The day-to-day work of a school counselor is diverse. They support children with various handicaps. These can be psychological, mental or physical. The support is based on the individual needs of each child. The aim is to promote integration into the school community, as well as the child's independence and self-confidence. The course prepares the participants for this activity, teaches specialist skills and basic pedagogical skills. The ability to communicate in everyday school life and the child's environment are also trained as part of the practical lessons and the subsequent practical block. With the newly acquired competence to act, one can act in a solution-oriented and child-friendly way in the school environment.
This course can also be booked part-time if required.

Career prospectsListenelement 4A school companion is assigned to a child with increased support needs if an application for integration assistance has been made. The costs for school support are then usually borne by the youth welfare office or social welfare agency. The costs are usually settled by the parents with the payer, or by various outpatient inclusion services and individual schools. The professional perspective is good.
